Jules Verne exposition in Rotterdam

Photo: Library of Rotterdam

On the occasion of the Jules Verne year 2005, the Dutch Jules Verne Society organizes a large exhibition on the life and works of Jules Verne. The exhibition will take place from 1 April to 30 April 2005, in the Municipal Library in Rotterdam.

In the large hall on the ground floor you will find a display of many different Jules Verne books, biographies, and other related objects. A timeline describes the author’s life and works, as well as important events that happened in the world. In showcases on the other floors, more specific subjects will be treated.

The library contains a modest cinema, where film adaptations of Jules Verne’s works will be shown. The programme of these film-shows will be published on this page in due course.

The exhibition will be festively opened on Friday, 1 April by Martin Ros. During this opening, the book In de ban van Jules Verne will be presented officially. The festivities start at 5.30 pm.
